Last final tomorrow…

There’s so much happening the first few days of summer, it’s so close but it’s come way too quickly. It’s difficult to believe my first year of college is finally done. To be honest, I’m not sure where the time went, it’s hard to piece together the memories of my first day of classes but I still remember the first time I met the influential people that I’ve become so close to these past few months. Truth is, I had trouble accepting that I’d be staying home for college but with the people I’ve met and the things I’ve had the chance to do, I’m slowly discovering who I am and what I want to be. These people have given me all the more reason to affirm that life has pushed me in the right direction.

Although it would’ve been nice to add on the excitement and liberty of an education away from home, I’ve gotten so much closer to my family; teaching me patience and self-control. The world has a funny way of working out. Sure, I can go all day thinking to myself: If I had moved out I’d be doing this, if I moved out I wouldn’t deal with that but how do I really know? Every action has a reaction, and oftentimes it’s not as favorable as we’d hope.  

I’ve got a comfortable home, a loving family, friends who’ve shown me what it means to be true to myself and not to mention an education at half the price. This past year did go by too quickly and yet I’ve done so much for myself and for others. For now, it’s time to finish strong and get that summer loving I’ve worked so hard for, it might be the best one yet.
